In 1856, the 22-year-old A.W. Krasnapolsky arrives in Amsterdam. With a tailor diploma in his pocket, the young tailor sets to work. After a long day of work, he seeks for relaxation in one of the coffee houses located in the Warmoesstraat. In 1866 he takes over an old and dilapidated coffee house.
