In 1856, the 22-year-old A.W. Krasnapolsky arrives in Amsterdam. With a tailor diploma in his pocket, the young tailor sets to work. After a long day of work, he seeks for relaxation in one of the coffee houses in the Warmoesstraat.
In 1866 he takes over an old and dilapidated coffee house. In a short time, the café grew into one of the most famous catering establishments in Amsterdam.
Today, the legacy of A.W. Krasnapolsky covers much more than just a café. Despite many changes; excellent quality, beautiful products and a warm welcome are also the ingredients of Grand Café Krasnapolsky in the twenty-first century.
